FT. LAUDERDALE, FL (March 13, 2013) –THINK PINK BASKETBALL, hosted by Miami Heat Point Guard Mario Chalmers and Specialty Automotive Treatments (SAT), proved to be a slam dunk event, raising over $40,000 for the Mario V. Chalmers Foundation and the Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women's Center (located at Holy Cross Hospital) on Saturday, March 9th at the SAT Showroom in Fort Lauderdale. Over 150 guests, including Miami Heat Players Udonis Haslem, Shane Battier, Joel Anthony, Chris "Birdman" Anderson and Juwan Howard, joined Chalmers and Specialty Automotive Treatment's owner Rafael Jorge at the cocktail reception which featured delectable catered fare from Grille 401 on Las Olas, cocktails from Potions in Motion, the cool sounds of DJ Irie and fabulous live and silent auction items. Raising funds for women with breast cancer has been a major cause that Chalmers has supported ever since a dear childhood friend's mother passed away from the disease a number of years ago.
Highlights of the evening included warm welcome speeches by Rafael and Ralph Jorge and Mario Chalmers as well as some special words of appreciation from Lynn Mandeville, Director of Development for the Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women's Center.
