FORT LAUDERDALE, FL --- Summer was kicked off in style last weekend with a "VIP All White Summer Party" at Thasos Greek Taverna in Fort Lauderdale. Some 500 guests dressed in white celebrated summer with traditional Mediterranean flavors in true Greek Chic Style with unique cocktail stations, exquisite hores deourves, and live entertainment throughout the night.
"Greek love white and Greeks love to have fun," said Sophia Mylona, the Greek born co-owner of Thasos. "We wanted to give guests the opportunity to experience our food, atmosphere and beautiful decor with a fun, summer party."
The white theme matched the décor of the Greek style building and interior designed by a Greek architect. The cut outs in the walls and all white building are reminiscence of the homes along the hillsides of Greece.
With a Masters Degree in Nutrition, Mylona stressed that importance of Thasos' foods made from fresh ingredients. "Our main focus to use all fresh ingredients, not premade or frozen. All of our appetizers, entrees and desserts are made here on the premises, its food with no regrets" she added.
The All White party introduced the restaurants lighter side summer lunch and dinner menu. "The summer menu is a lighter fare of fresh seafoods, vegetables and mezes (tapas)" said Brian Cantrell, head chef at Thasos. "We import Olive Oils and Vinegars and other ingredients from Greece to give our food a more authentic Greek taste, which is difficult to duplicate. For quality and service we are the premier Greek restaurant in the area.'
Thasos is open daily for lunch and dinner, has a cocktail hour with drink specials and Sunday Brunch with bottomless Sangria, Mimosas, Champagne and Bloody Mary's.
