The production company for a major motion picture, "Ride Along 2," will begin filming on Fort Lauderdale Beach starting on Monday, July 14, 2014.  Crews are already at work preparing for the production.

The production will involve several temporary road closures and Intermittent Traffic Control (ITC) on sections of streets in and around A1A, from SE 5th Street to Terramar Street, which will allow traffic to flow at intervals between the filming of scenes.

This segment of the production at Fort Lauderdale Beach has an $8 million budget, cast of 250 and crew of 65.  The film stars Kevin Hart and Ice Cube.

The filming includes simulated gun fire and a vehicle accident.

During the filming, all residents, businesses, visitors, and patrons will be provided access to properties.

• Right lane closure of Northbound A1A at Bayshore Drive from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

July 13, 2014

• The Northbound and Southbound turn lanes from A1A to Terramar Street will be blocked from 10 p.m. on Sunday, July 13 until 9 p.m. on Monday, July 14.

July 14, 2014

• ITC on SE 5th Street and A1A Northbound and Southbound to Las Olas Boulevard from 7 a.m. - 10 a.m.
• ITC on Poinsettia Street and A1A from 9 a.m. - noon
• ITC on A1A Northbound between Cortez Street and Sebastian Street from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The "Ride Along 2" production crew is working closely with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department to assist pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
