Fort Lauderdale, FL – Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center (CDTC) distributed Thanksgiving meals to over 1,300 of its neediest families during its 24rd Annual Thanksgiving Basket Brigade on Sunday, November 20th. These families receive their medical care at CDTC and were pre-selected by the Center.

The CDTC Basket Brigade, which was held at CDTC in Fort Lauderdale, provided some of the Center’s most underprivileged families with a “basket” filled with all the items needed to make a traditional Thanksgiving meal, including a turkey.  The Center had over 800 volunteers attend the annual festivities and assist with the assembling and delivering of Thanksgiving meals to the families. In addition to the tremendous community support, American Express, Fed Ex, The Broward Sheriff’s Office & Dayton-Dandes Center for Integrative Medicine partnered with CDTC to make this a successful event.

CDTC would like to thank Juila Durda of Channel 10 News, who has attended Basket Brigade for the last thirteen years. She was able to interview one of the volunteers, who happened to be a former client of the center. “My daughter Julie, was born early and received amazing treatment at CDTC,” said Dianne Keith. “We have nothing but fabulous things to say about the Center!  We are honored to be able to give back and have been delivering Thanksgiving meals for the past 4 years.”
