AVENTURA, Fla. – The Aventura Arts & Cultural Center 2017 Broadway Concert Series will feature four of the Great White Way’s brightest stars including Sierra Boggess (The Little Mermaid, The Phantom of the Opera), Leslie Odom, Jr. (Hamilton, Rent), Linda Lavin (veteran star of cabaret, stage and screen) and Billy Porter (Kinky Boots).

Opening this spectacular series is Sierra Boggess on Wednesday, January 25 at 8 p.m., who made her Broadway debut in 2007 by originating the role of Ariel in Disney’s The Little Mermaid. After a two-year run, she took the starring role as Christine Daaé in Love Never Dies, the sequel to The Phantom of the Opera, followed by a role in the Broadway revival of Master Class. In 2013, Boggess returned as Christine Daaé in The Phantom of the Opera for the Broadway production's 25th anniversary. Currently she is performing the role of school principal Rosalie Mullins in the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical adaptation of School of Rock but she is set to resume playing the role of Christine Daaé in the Paris production of The Phantom of the Opera for the show's 30th anniversary.

Hamilton, Leslie Odom, Jr. will take the stage on Wednesday, March 15 at 8 p.m. Recipient of the 2016 Tony Best Actor in a Musical Award for his role in Hamilton, Odom made his Broadway debut at the age of 17 playing Paul in Rent. He was awarded the 2012 Astaire Award for Outstanding Male Dancer on Broadway and a Drama Desk Award nomination for his work in the Alan Menken musical, Leap of Faith. Audiences also will recognize Odom for his starring role as Sam Strickland in NBC's SMASH and recurring roles on CSI Miami, Grey's Anatomy and Showtime’s House of Lies. He made his film debut in 2012 in Red Trails, which chronicled the Tuskegee Airmen.

Heralded by Stephen Holden of The New York Times as “A sizzling, electric connection…a human tornado!” – Tony and Golden Globe winner Linda Lavin will perform on Wednesday, March 29 at 8 p.m. Known the world over for her wisecracking role as Alice Hyatt in the TV series Alice, she also has appeared on stage in It’s a Bird…It’s a Plane…It’s Superman, Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Broadway Bound, Collected Stories, The Diary of Anne Frank, Gypsy, The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife and many others. Recently, she released her first CD, “Possibilities.” A veteran of the cabaret circuit, Lavin will be joined by her trio for this concert. 

The Aventura Broadway Concert Series will culminate with gifted and soulful singing sensation Billy Porter on Sunday, April 2 at 7 p.m. Porter is the 2013 winner of the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical and the 2013 Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards for Outstanding Actor in a Musical for his role as Lola in the Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots. Following his stint on Broadway, the Grammy Award-winning singer and composer launched a successful solo career. Fans also may recognize him from his role in the movie Twisted, an adaptation of Oliver Twist, and his appearance on an episode of

The RuPaul Show.

Individual tickets and four-show subscription packages go on sale July 19. Tickets for individual shows are $40 and $45. Four-show subscriptions are available at a savings of 15 percent on individual tickets if purchased in advance by August 19, 2016.
