My name is Jezzie (ID# 419757) and I'm a 1½-year-old, 18-pound Chihuahua mix who is looking for a loving home where I can be spoiled. I came to the shelter as a stray...very pregnant and soon after gave birth to nine babies. They have all been adopted and now I'm hoping someone will give me a home. I'm sweet and will give kisses, but will also bark and alert you if I hear a noise. I like other dogs...I just need a chance. Will you give me one?

There are many dogs, cats and rabbits looking to be adopted this week at the Humane Society of Broward County. The adoption fees are: $100 for dogs and $135 for dogs 6 months and younger. The $85 adoption fee for felines over 6 months is currently being waived and for kittens it has been reduced to $50. The fee includes spay/neuter surgery, preliminary vaccinations, microchip and registration, heartworm test for dogs and feline leukemia test for cats and more. The adoption fee for rabbits is $20, ferrets are $55 and Guinea pigs $15.
