Pet of the Week 10-05-11

If you're looking for a sweet family dog, stop by the Humane Society of Broward County and meet Gordita (ID# 402907). This beauty is 8 years old, a full-figured gal who is looking for a family who will love her forever. Sadly, her previous family moved away and could not take her along, so now here she sits all alone. The staff and trainers say she is a real sweetheart who is always looking for love. Gordita gets along with people of all ages and she likes other dogs. She's a great catch, and is this week's featured "Diamond in the Ruff," which means her adoption fee is waived.

There are many dogs, cats and rabbits looking to be adopted this week at the Humane Society of Broward County. The adoption fees are: $100 for dogs and $135 for dogs 6 months and younger. The $85 adoption fee for felines over 6 months is currently being waived and for kittens it has been reduced to $50.  The fee includes spay/neuter surgery, preliminary vaccinations, microchip and registration, heartworm test for dogs and feline leukemia test for cats and more. The adoption fee for rabbits is $20.00, ferrets are $55 and Guinea pigs $15. For more information call the shelter today at 954-989-3977 or visit www.humanebroward.com to see who else is looking for a home for life.  The Humane Society of Broward County is located at 2070 Griffin Road, just a block west of I-95.  Adoptions open daily at 10 a.m.

If you have a pet that needs to be spayed or neutered please call the low-cost spay/neuter hotline at 954-463-7729 or email spayneuter@hsbroward.com. Prices start as low as $15 and kittens can be as young as 8 weeks!
