The 2012 Lauderdale Air Show is scheduled to be held on Fort Lauderdale Beach on Saturday, April 28th, 2012 and Sunday, April 29th, 2012. This year the Lauderdale Air Show events will be curtailed from the previously held Air Shows, which the community is familiar with from past years. The Fort Lauderdale Police Department will continue to issue advisories, leading up to the date of the event and during, to keep show spectators and residents residing in the surrounding areas informed.

This Air Show will encompass many events which will take place at various offsite venues; however the main show is scheduled to take place from12:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M., both Saturday and Sunday.

The main viewing area for the show will be referred to as “Show Center”. Show Center will be located from Sunrise Boulevard and State Road A1A to the 1400 block of State Road A1A. This area represents the central location for the aerial demonstrations. The Lauderdale Air Show promoter has designated various viewing areas to have restricted access. The Fort Lauderdale Police Department in encouraging Air Show spectators to make note of the following notable differences from past years; (http://lauderdaleairshow.com)

The Lauderdale Air Show is scheduled to take place from 12:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M.; unlike the previously held Air and Sea Show which was held from 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M.

The Lauderdale Air Show’s demonstrations are solely focused on aerial and will not include any aquatic demonstrations.

The Lauderdale Air Show will not be providing any off-site parking or bus shuttle services.

Limited parking, for a yet to be determined fee, is being offered by the Galleria Mall (pre-paid vouchers required) and the Bonnet House (VIP prepaid vouchers required).

Commuters are cautioned when parking along the residential neighborhoods, as any parking violations will be strictly enforced. Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited inside the designated Show Center area.
There will be “Cooler Check Points” enforcing this requirement prior to entering the viewing area. Cooler Check Point Locations: Northeast 14th Street and State Road A1A (northern entrance to Show Center), Sunrise Boulevard and Breakers Avenue (main entrance to Show Center) and Vistamar Street and State Road A1A (southern entrance to Show Center).
