
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL -- Who needs a pound of chocolate when you can adopt a ton of love at the Humane Society of Broward County? Big, sweet dogs over 40 pounds and luscious lap cats over 8 pounds will have their adoption fees waived Friday, February 7th thru Sunday, February 9th in the hopes of finding endless love.
The Humane Society has dozens of beautiful animals of all shapes and sizes available for adoption all of the time. "Sometimes is more difficult to place the larger animals into loving homes" said Mary Steffen, Senior VP of Operations. "We hope that this adoption special will encourage families to give a big guy or gal a chance!"
In addition, on Saturday, February 8th from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. we will host a large bake sale and have raffles with fabulous prizes. When you adopt from the Humane Society of Broward County all pets are spayed or neutered before going home. In addition they receive preliminary vaccinations, a microchip, heart worm test for dogs over seven months, feline leukemia test for cats, a limited 10 day health care plan courtesy of VCA Animal Hospital, a bag of Purina ONE food, one week complimentary doggie daycare at Lauderdale/Pompano Pet Lodge and more.
