The City of Fort Lauderdale and Team Contracting, Inc. will be installing a new sidewalk on the south side of NW 2 Street between NW 12 Avenue and NW 11 Avenue in Dorsey-Riverbend. Once completed, this project will enhance pedestrian connections in the neighborhood.

Construction will begin on Monday, February 21, 2022, and is expected to be completed in early March 2022. Work will take place Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Traffic & Parking Impacts

• One lane in each direction of NW 2 Street between NW 12 Avenue and NW 11 Avenue may be closed temporarily while concrete is being poured and during the time it takes to dry. Traffic control personnel will direct traffic as needed through the open lane.
• Access to driveways will be maintained unless work is taking place in the immediate area behind the driveway. Crews will attempt to coordinate with neighbors prior to the start of concrete operations.
• Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area.

The location of the new sidewalk will be marked with white paint prior to the start of construction. Neighbors are asked to relocate their vehicles away from this area in order to maintain a safe work zone and allow for the project to be completed as soon as possible.
