Motorists and boaters are advised that the American Diabetes Association is sponsoring a fundraising walk that involves a bridge closure and road closures from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 26 in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

The New River will be closed to navigation at the SE 3rd Avenue Bridge during the event.

Vehicular traffic will be temporarily detoured during the event.  Streets impacted include East Las Olas Boulevard, SE 3rd Avenue, New River Drive East, SE 6th Street, SE 6th Avenue, North Rio Vista Boulevard and SE 5th Avenue.

Motorists traveling in the downtown area are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid delays.
