FORT LAUDERDALE, FL -- Neiman Marcus Fort Lauderdale hosted the glamorous “Fashion Forward for PAWS” on October 16, a benefit for the Humane Society of Broward County.  Chairperson Christy Gumberg orchestrated a terrifically successful sold-out fundraiser, with $23,000 raised for the animal shelter’s programs and services.

The 150 guests attending Fashion Forward for PAWS were treated to plenty of eye candy with the fabulous fall fashions provided by Neiman Marcus Fort Lauderdale.  Extra “ooh’s” were heard when the models wrapped up the show with especially adorable “accessories” in their arms –puppies that were available for adoption.  There were certainly a good number of open-hearted people at the fashion show, as six lovely pups and one sweet kitten found their forever homes that day!

Chanel offered makeup touch-up stations during the cocktail hour that preceded the luncheon, as well as providing favors for all attendees.  A prize drawing was held for a $1,000 shopping spree to Neiman Marcus Fort Lauderdale, with lucky Valerie Harvey walking away with the win.  A Chinese auction also featured wonderful items for bid.

The Humane Society of Broward County is a private, non-profit organization supported by donations from companies and people who want to help us help the homeless animals. 

The shelter has only one location and is not affiliated with any national or local organization with a similar name.
