FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – 2-1-1 Broward hosted a fabulous FPL CLUB 2-1-1 Connecting Event for local business leaders and members of the community at Smoke on the Water on Tuesday, July 22nd in Weston, Florida. The engaging cocktail party was sponsored by Florida Power & Light (FPL) and catered by Red Chair Catering.  The Event Ambassadors for the evening were Heather Geronemus, Public Relations Specialist at Ultimate Software, and David Lister, Esq., of Martin, Lister & Alvarez.

Guests enjoyed an evening of networking and cocktails and a delicious array of hors d’oeuvres.  Juliet Roulhac, a senior attorney with FPL, welcomed everyone and spoke about how proud FPL is to be the Title Sponsor of CLUB 2-1-1. Bob Birdsong, President & CEO of OK Generators and Chairman of the Board for 2-1-1 Broward, thanked the sponsors for the evening and then told the guests about all the amazing work and services that 2-1-1 Broward provides for our community. Birdsong then introduced Heather Geronemus, who talked about how important 2-1-1 Broward’s work is in Broward County and encouraged non-members in attendance to join Club 2-1-1.

CLUB 2-1-1 was created to expand 2-1-1 Broward’s mission of “connecting” by offering exclusive networking opportunities for local professionals and individuals to meet at different venues throughout Broward County.  While connecting to others, CLUB 2-1-1 members also get acquainted with the work of 2-1-1 Broward and the ways in which the organization serves them and the entire community. CLUB 2-1-1 also offers members an online source for marketing their business or interest to 2-1-1’s extensive list of email and social media subscribers. 

Funds raised through each membership, $211 per year, are used to help support the general operations of 2-1-1 Broward, the community’s only 24/7comprehensive helpline for individuals in our community seeking crisis intervention assistance, emotional support, information and referrals to health and human services in Broward County. In addition to connecting with a unique group of professionals at each event, CLUB 2-1-1 is a great way for individuals to learn more about this valuable resource and how it can assist their employees, families and friends.
