FORT LAUDERDALE, FL -- "Tea by the Sea," a PAWS event to benefit the Humane Society of Broward County, was held at the home of Wayne and Marti Huizenga on April 23. Marti Huizenga was the gracious Honorary Hostess, with Chairpersons Michelle Russo-Matak and Jamie Stiles organizing the afternoon. A record $44,000 was raised at the annual event.

A silent auction was available for guests to place their bids, and a harpist added to the relaxing atmosphere. Pamela Huizenga had jewelry on display for sale, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to PAWS – for the animals. There was also a drawing for a "Mermaid Table" where guests purchased tickets for the chance to upgrade their entire table. This premium Mermaid Table included an upgraded menu, special mementos, butler service, VIP valet service and a beautiful centerpiece which the winner was able to take home. Margaret Meldeau won the drawing for her table. In addition, there was the "most fabulous hat" contest, which Megan Borger proudly won.

A fashion show was a treat for the eyes with showcased fashions from J.McLaughlin, custom hats by Barbi Brunton and jewelry by Pamela Huizenga Jewelry. Models were generously provided by Betty's Talent Group.
