FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – ChildNet Circle of Supporters, an annual giving society, recently gathered for a cocktail reception at YOLO÷ Fort Lauderdale's O-Lounge, raising more than $8,600 for ChildNet, the community-based care lead agency in Broward and Palm Beach counties.
The evening highlighted the need for more loving, caring families in Broward County to open their hearts and homes to children in foster care.
"I want to thank each and every one of our Circle of Supporters members – the everyday heroes, champions, visionaries, advocates and partners who allow us to help make a difference in saving our community's most vulnerable children," said ChildNet Board Chairman Jeffrey Dwyer, Esq. "We need support to pay for things that children in foster care need and want in order to enjoy their childhood. Donations pay for things that children might not otherwise have had access to, such as participating in school field trips or joining the school band – the simple things that create happy childhood memories."
ChildNet Circle of Supporters enjoy networking at exclusive quarterly cocktail parties, invitations to ChildNet events and recognition on their donor wall, website and in the annual report. One hundred percent of donations go directly toward supporting activities and items needed by children in foster care in the local community.
As the single private non-profit entity responsible for administration of the local child welfare system, ChildNet brings years of dedication to protecting abused, abandoned and neglected children in the communities it serves.
